I want to
party with people who celebrate life. I
reckon we are all so busy doing good, our kids,
jobs, pets, friends, charities etc.
Sometimes a girl needs to bust out. I know
the women in my community are bugging to break
out. This is their chance to rediscover
their inner wild child. I go out in LA and
all the young people are cultivating their
jadedness. It looks so effortful.
They'd be cooler people if they didn't worry so
much what others think about them.
Fortunately we don't have that problem.
When I get
together with fans, it's a judgement-free
zone. There's a lot of love in the room and
we know how to cut loose. It's the most fun
you can have without getting arrested.
(Which I'm duty bound to say is no fun at
all.) Anyhoo, I invite all my good friends
(This means You!) to come join the party.
I am
thrilled to have two mighty Amazons of NZ music
royalty come out to play. Anika Moa and
Julia Deans are joining me, Joe LoDuca, Ben
Jurisich, Scott Wotherspoon & Jason Sonic
Smith (aka. Eurostalker). Julia and Anika
are two f-u goddesses who blew my tiny mind when
they said they wanted to play my show. So
basically, this is a kick-ass rock band. I
am totally in love with them.
I've made it
R18 because it's in a pub and I hate seeing kids
at my shows. You never know what's going to
come out of our mouths. Adult themes,
definitely.
You were
warned.
Big Love,
Arohanui,
Lucy

Surprise added to May 17 Auckland concert
countdown calendar. Enjoy!
5/15/12 -- Thought I'd bring a bit of Lucy's
earlier concerts into the fun of waiting for the
one coming up at the King's Arms in Auckland on
May 27 by making an countdown calendar with
boxes of surprises to be opened each day.
So click on the dates above as they happen and
see what's inside. Have fun!
5/1/12 -- Lucy's doing a concert in Auckland New
Zealand on May 27 at the King's Arms! She
just popped over a blog (see above) with all the
pertinent info -- who, who not, why. Leave
it to our resident wild child to prep us for
another raise-the-roof night of music and
mayhem!

Just
heard from Lucy that the court date for the
Shell Oil protesters has been postponed until
April 18 as they readdress the charges!

The House of Travel Racing for Starship Team
which will be competing in the Orion Health

raising funds for the national children's
hospital to raise funds for Starship’s National

made, but thought this was a great idea!
3/24/12 -- CELEBRATING LUCY'S BIRTHDAY THIS
YEAR!
DO SOMETHING NICE FOR THE PLANET
Want to celebrate Lucy's birthday (3/29) this
year? I asked her what she'd most enjoy
having the fans do this year and she said she’d
love it if the fans would “Do something nice for
the Planet.” As she’s just come down from
her battle with Shell Oil and trying to save the
Arctic, it seems a spot on request and one I
know the fans would love to participate
in.
Think of something to do and then drop me a note
at lucylawlessfanclub@dslextreme.com
and I'll collect them all and send the list of
“nice things for the Planet” to Lucy. Big
thing or small, it all counts. Each small
step we take in the right direction is a giant
leap for the future of our planet and the
generations to come. You have until April
14 to send them to me.
Don't forget to include your name, city, state,
country.
3/6/12 -- Check Lucy's tweet above to view
Robert Redford's video on Shell's arctic oil
drilling plans.

The police have started climbing the ladder
2/23/12 -- Lucy climbed 50 meters today to the
top of a Shell oil rig ship along with 5
protesters from Greenpeace NZ. The ship
was due to depart for the Arctic to explore oil
drilling possibilities. You think it was
hard to stop the oil spill in the Gulf of
Mexico. Try stopping one in the
Arctic. They've settled in for the night
and the long haul. Lucy's been tweeting
all day.
@RealLucyLawless Today I’m taking direct action
with GreenpeaceNZ in peaceful protest against
Shell’s Arctic oil drilling
@RealLucyLawless
I’m
on one of the oldest drill rigs on the planet
and it’s heading to the Arctic. Tell Shell
to stop
@RealLucyLawless
Why?
1. The Arctic is in the crosshairs of Climate
Change profiteers.
@RealLucyLawless
Why?
2. Because a blowout under Arctic ice will make
the Gulf of Mexico spill look like a children's
party
@RealLucyLawless
Why?3.
Because We have the technology and knowledge to
change the course of runaway climate
change. We owe it to our kids
@RealLucyLawless
All
safe up here but a squall coming in. Good
spirits.

Scientists say they do not have the technology

2/18/12 -- Yes, that's Lucy on Twitter!
She's RealLucyLawless.
I've
been talking with her about it for a couple
weeks and she popped up a test tweet to see how
it works. Just heard from her this morning
that she's ready to go! Now that she's on,
info, mayhem and frivolity will follow. So
sign up now!
2/15/12 -- Just heard from Lucy that she starts
filming Jane Campion's Top of the Lake next
week!
Directed by Campion and Australian director
Garth Davis, it is a seven-hour BBC Worldwide
miniseries filming in Queenstown, New Zealand
written by Campion and Gerard Lee. Also
starring Elisabeth Moss, Holly Hunter, Peter
Mullan and David Wenham. The story is set
in the remote mountains of New Zealand and
follows the disappearance of a five-months
pregnant 12-year-old named Tui who was last seen
standing chest-deep in a frozen lake.
Investigating detective Robin Griffin (Moss)
must lose herself in order to find the missing
girl. During the investigation, she
collides with Matt Mitcham (Mullan), Tui’s
father, a local drug lord, and G.J (Hunter), a
guru at a local women’s camp. The Sundance
Channel will co-produce and distribute in the
U.S.

New message from Lucy as she hits the PR trail
with Liam McIntyre to promote the new season of
Spartacus. The two of them have been all
over TV and radio, walking red carpets and
spreading the word that Spartacus is back!

What an incredible few days
we're about to have. The premiere of
Spartacus Season 2 and Lucy's appearance with
Renee and heaps of other Xena actors at the
Official Xena Convention in Burbank, CA.
The premiere airs on Friday, Jan. 27 and that's
the same day the convention starts.
1/22/12 -- Listing of Lucy's PR appearances week
of Jan. 23 - 27 leading up to the premiere of
Spartacus: Vengeance on Friday, Jan. 27.
And all the fans coming to the Official
Xena
Convention in Los Angeles on Sunday, Jan.
29 will get to see Lucy and Renee in person on
stage!
Monday Jan. 23 -- Live with
Kelly ABC
Wednesday Jan. 25 -- The Chew
Thursday Jan. 26 -- Starz live web
chat 10pm ET
Friday Jan. 27 -- Access Hollywood Live
1/6/12 -- Incredible photos of the Spartacus
cast in this week's Entertainment Weekly (see
above). And we're gearing up for the Official
Xena Convention in Los Angeles on January
27-29.
12/23/11 -- Christmas message from Lucy!
She's working on her fake tan, practicing her
French and giving a shoutout to Chicken
Power! Check out her message above.
And a Happy Holiday from me and the Muff.
We're going to be bundling up tonight.
It's supposed to be almost 80 degrees in LA for
Christmas, but tonight it's going to get down to
freezing in Burbank!
12/15/11 -- Click on Lucy's People Power link
above and see what we can do when we join
together!
11/22/11 -- Lucy was photographed next to the No
Drill No Spill sign that is popping
up all over New Zealand. See photo
above.
11/14/11 -- Lucy's speaking out about the threat
of more deep sea oil drilling off the coast of New Zealand. She's urging
people to sign
a
Greenpeace petition to the NZ
government. She said, “I’d urge anyone who
wants to protect our coasts from an even worse
oil spill than that which we saw in Tauranga, to
sign
this
petition. By doing so, they’ll also be
doing something positive about the climate
crisis that this planet is facing." Check
out her message above.
11/4/11 -- When I saw the tweets about Lucy
getting arrested at the Occupy Oakland protest
for throwing a shoe at a policeman, I passed
them along to Lucy. Knowing she was in LA
not Oakland, I wondered what her response was
going to be. It didn't take long for her
to send me her "mug shots" and ask me to tweet
them. We opted to tweet the first shot as,
if you look in her eyes, the second one is
actually quite sympathetic. What a hoot!
11/2/11 -- Well, now we know what Lucy dressed
up as for Halloween. Check the photo of
her and Viva above.
10/20/11 -- Lucy's come out of the depths of
Roman decadence and what should greet her eyes,
but the Feel the Love Week pledge list.
She'd loved it! And her note of thanks is
above.
I want to add a special thanks to Rebecca
Reilly, the fan who came up with the idea six
years ago. I thought she'd drifted away as
I didn't see her pledge for the past couple
years until I noticed a similarity between her
email and another Rebecca. Turns out it
was our Rebecca still with us. So thanks
again for such a great idea. The fans love
it and it really brightens up Lucy's life as
well. Good on ya!
10/16/11 -- The person to whom organized sports
is the equivalent of eating brussels sprouts has
been hooked by the Rugby World Cup! Yes,
that's a photo above of Lucy sitting in the
stands watching the All Blacks play the
Wallabies.
10/12/11 -- Feel the Love pledges have all been
typed into a wonderfully fun, imaginative and
greater-good list and on its way down to
Lucy. Thanks to you all :)
10/3/11 -- The second season of Spartacus
is wrapping up and Lucy wanted to share her
feelings for her cast and crew. Check her
new message above. Can't wait until
January so we can see what they've been up
to. I'm sure there's heaps of physical
havoc and emotional turmoil as well.
That's what Spartacus
excels in. If the first season and the
prequel are anything to judge by, we're in for
quite a ride come the new year!
9/13/11 -- Lucy has sent a message about a trust
fund set up for Andy's wife and two
children. The information is above.
9/11/11 -- Andy Whitfield has lost his battle
with cancer. Lucy's message is posted
above. From the way everyone who knew and
worked with him spoke of him, we've lost a warm,
caring, talented soul. My heart goes out
to his family.
9/6/11 -- Check out the note above Lucy just
sent about a Greenpeace
petition against new offshore oil drilling
in New Zealand. You don't have to be a New
Zealander to sign it. Let's help keep oil
out of the seas! Whether you swim in them,
make your living from them or, even more
important, if the sea is your home, we need to
protect them.
9/5/11 -- Feel the Love Day Pledge List
Starting!
Feel the Love 2011!
Gads, is September flying by! It's time
for the sixth annual "Lucy Lawless Feel the Love
Day" charity drive. September 19th kicks
off a week of charitable acts and contributions
by Lucy fans all over the world. Taking
our love for all things Lucy and sharing it with
those around us who are in need.
You can choose what you'd like to do, whether it
is donating money or supplies to a charity,
volunteering your time or services to a
charitable organization, reading to a child, or
helping out a neighbor, co-worker, or
friend. Any act of charity or kindness
counts!
Anyone, anywhere can participate, regardless of
how old (or young) you are, or where you
live. All you have to do is decide what
charitable or kind act you would like to do
during "Feel the Love" week (or at any time
during September/October) and e-mail it with
your name and location as you would like it to
appear on the pledge list. On October 3,
Lucy will be presented with the pledge list of
all the charitable acts being done in her
honor. To make sure your pledge gets
recorded correctly please use the following
format in your e-mail:
"In honor of Lucy Lawless Feel the Love Day, I
will (insert your intended contribution), then
put your name and location (city, state,
country) as you want it to appear on the pledge
list."
The subject of the email should be Feel the Love
Day.
Here is the link
to
Starship
Children's Hospital that allows you to
make your donation in honor of Lucy for "Feel
the Love Day" if that is what you choose to do.
Please email your pledges to lucylawlessfanclub@dslextreme.com
The deadline for submitting pledges is October
3.
Lucy’s so proud that her fans came up with this
idea. It’s something she’s talked about in
many interviews. I know she enjoys reading
the pledge list. Can’t wait to pass it
along to her again this year.
9/3/11 -- Lucy's donation for Starship's
Spring
Clean auction of one of Lucretia's
costumes is now online!
8/25/11 -- Lucy's auctions for a meet
and
greet and artworks
by
Michael
Parekowhai are now online!
8/24/11 -- Lucy just sent me the link
to
the Greenpeace International auction.
8/16/11 -- Lucy has signed on to the Climate
Reality Project.

Lucy is participating in the Climate
Reality Project. 24 Presenters. 24 Time
Zones. 13 Languages. 1 Message. 24 Hours of Reality
is a worldwide event to broadcast the reality of the
climate crisis. The New Zealand section of
Climate Reality will be filmed in Auckland with a
15-minute introduction by Lucy Lawless.
Time for Lucy's introduction: Wednesday, Sept. 14,
midnight (Pacific Time)
I have set sail for my life as an eco-Warrior. Won't
you all join me?
Lucy
8/16/11 -- More information from Lucy about the
auction for Rainbow Warrior III in her message
above. She raided the walls of her home
and put up two life-sized photos by Michael
Parekowhai of the Lone Ranger and Tonto.
Also in the auction will be a dinner with
someone special.
8/11/11 -- Lucy shot a very tiny frog . . . with
her Nikon. And she shot it to help raise
conservation awareness and money for
Greenpeace's Rainbow Warrior III.
8/2/11 -- Lucy's gathering up her personal
artwork, jewelry and a meet and greet and
putting it all up for Greenpeace International's
auction on August 24 to help raise money for the
Rainbow Warrior III.
12/15/07 -- Here's part two of the
Disco Lucy video series. The silver mini makes
its appearance. Out comes the jewelry and
curling iron and food! Lucy's getting
hungry. This photo shoot took the whole day.
9/23/07 -- In an earlier message, Lucy talked about
the photo shoot that gave birth to Disco Lucy.
Here's the first in a series of clips that shows
what led up to the photo I'm using as a still to
click on for the videoclip.
3/29/06 -- I know Lucy's parents must be
pleased as punch with the award she received
today.
Wednesday, 29 March 2006 Press Release: Governor
General
Lucy Lawless displays the
Insignia of a Member of the New Zealand Order of
Merit at Government House in Auckland. Her
citation reads: "For services to entertainment
and the community. Lucy Lawless has had a long
film, stage and television career in New
Zealand, Canada and the Unites States.
She is most famous for creating the role of Xena
in the series Hercules and the 6-year season of
Xena, Warrior Princess, both American television
series which were shot in New Zealand. She has
also made several stage appearances and tours.
She is on the Board of Trustees of the Starship
Children’s Hospital in Auckland and promoted a
Starship Foundation/Sky City fundraising
campaign for Puawaitahi, New Zealand’s first
multi-agency centre for abused children. She was
patron and speaker at the Women in Film and
Television International Summit in Auckland in
April 2004."
PROJECT NOTE I WASN'T QUITE SURE WHAT TO
DO WITH!
Lucy popped me a note: " I am off
working on Ted Raimi's internet pilot this
morning. I am playing an executive with
a nasty problem to solve that involves
polaroids going to the wrong recipient."
